“The winds of change,” my husband said, of the striking shift in the weather over the weekend.
And across this nation, I see a sweep of women elected to office, large and small, lifted by the vote of the young, and by male allies of all ages, and by women themselves, waking.
I see a sweep that includes the election of those representing marginalized populations and those from entitled groups, who fully recognize their privilege and place it in service.
I see the beginning of our democracy reborn, representational, responsive.
I see the wind beneath our nation’s wings.
